MOSS DAY PARK

Public BBQ

Tucked away on Washington Street, this delightful "secret park" in Nambour's heart proves that good things come in small packages. The compact space strikes a pleasant balance between open grassed areas perfect for a kick-about and thoughtfully positioned facilities. The undercover electric barbecue area, complete with picnic tables, provides welcome afternoon shade from around 3pm onwards. Children gravitate toward the well-designed playground, while older kids enjoy the half basketball court and cricket net. Train enthusiasts will appreciate the passing locomotives that add a charming soundtrack to proceedings. Two walking tracks wind toward a babbling creek - particularly refreshing after recent rains for a cooling dip. The toilet block serves its purpose, though timing matters here. After heavy rain, the ground becomes rather treacherous - I learned this the hard way when my ankle disappeared into unexpected mud en route to the facilities. Despite this seasonal quirk, locals clearly cherish this quiet retreat, with dog walkers making regular afternoon appearances.
